Suståne utilizes renewable agricultural resources to create a unique base of products through aerobic composting. The end result is a stable and safe, highly concentrated compost with low odor that is easy to handle and predictable every time. It's because of the composting process that Suståne fertilizers do not attract insects, decomposers, pets and other critters. The food value has been changed to humus and is of no use or benefit to higher life forms. When applied to soil or growing media, soil organisms easily convert Suståne organic nutrients into plant available fertilizer. Because this process has been completed, Suståne fertilizers will not consume oxygen in your soils.

Without burn or loss to the environment. With a 5:1 C:N [carbon to nitrogen ratio] Suståne fertilizers go right to work supplying slow release nutrients to the soil and plants. The Suståne composting process converts raw organic matter into valuable humus, the organic matter will not immobilize other forms of nitrogen in the soil. Nitrogen immobilization renders free nitrogen unavailable for plant uptake. Slow Release Nitrogen is also less likely to leach or escape and serves to feed growing plants, as they require it over a longer period of time. Organically bound, slow release nitrogen is nature’s most efficient form of plant food. Soluble nitrogen has shifted to slow release organic nitrogen.

Suståne Strengthens and Restores all Soil Types. Suståne fertilizers are made from stabilized organic matter (humus) that improves the soils capacity to store and exchange nutrients. Humus improves the water holding capacity of soils and improves water infiltration by increasing pore space.

Communities of beneficial microorganisms evolve during the composting process. The compost is then dehydrated at temperatures similar to the compost rows allowing the beneficial microorganisms to survive and go dormant in the dehydrated product. he microbial communities have evolved into what are known as the beneficial microorganisms; These bugs go to work in the soil supplying plants with nutrients and providing diverse populations of beneficial soil biology thus creating resource competition for some plant pathogens.

Suståne is proven to be effective in helping fight plant disease caused by soil borne pathogens. Suståne has been tested for its capacity to reduce plant injury and help plants recover from disease-causing organisms by enhancing beneficial soil biological activity without pesticide use.

Rich humic and fulvic substances evolve during the Suståne process. These humic substances have achieved biological maturity beyond raw organic matter and peat moss but are younger and more soluble than inert and insoluble carbon coal phase commonly associated with soft shale and Leonardite humate fractions. Humic substances are important components of soil that affect physical and chemical properties and improve soil fertility.

AGIF: Asia Golf Industry Federation

Suståne is one of the founding charter members of the AGIF which was formed in 2010 as a not-for-profit industry federation with members and partners involved in all facets of the industry throughout Asia. The Federation seeks to assist the golf industry in Asia to take the next step in development toward a sustainable industry.

While the North American and European industry/facilities are in the 2nd to 3rd generation of existence, many facilities in Asia are still being build or just now transitioning to their second-generation after a construction boom 20-30 years ago.
