Suståne is located in the agriculturally rich Midwestern region of the United States and is central to the largest world turkey production. The turkeys are fed the corn and soy grown in the area and natural minerals. Area family farms raise the turkeys. When the barns are cleaned the turkey litter collected is transported to a centralized U.S. E.P.A. permitted composting site: The Suståne Compost Facility.

Turkey litter provides the base for all Suståne Natural Fertilizers. The manure is collected from area family farms in southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin where the birds are fed locally grown corn and soybean meal and are raised in naturally ventilated barns bedded with softwood pine shavings. What began in 1980 as a safe alternative composting process to protect the environment from nutrient runoff and future flocks from disease raised on the family farms now provides an award winning stabilization method that produces a premium organic fertilizer utilized by many growers in varied and multiple markets worldwide.
