Suståne is
Compost Concentrated

Almost four tons of turkey litter are required to produce one finished ton of Suståne. Raw organic matter biologically converts over time into nutrient rich organic matter and homogenous humus. Soluble nitrogen converts to organic and slow release nitrogen. The nitrogen molecules are held by the bacterial biomass and after application to the soil are solubilized by soil microbial activity to plant available forms; feeding the plant as it is needed rather than too quickly or not at all.

Suståne organic fertilizers are converted to humus over a twenty-six week aerobic, thermophilic composting process and are then concentrated, granulated, packaged and shipped. It takes time oxygen, and water to transform nitrogen and organic matter into Sustane fertilizer. Suståne fertilizers will not consume oxygen in your soils. With a 5:1 C:N [carbon to nitrogen ration] Suståne fertilizers go right to work supplying slow release nutrients to the soil and plants. Suståne fertilizers do not attract insects, decomposers, pets and other critters. The food value has been changed to humus and is of no use or benefit to higher life forms.

Suståne fertilizers provide all elements essential for plant photosynthesis bound in a homogenous humic granule. Low odor, low dust. Highly concentrated, compost-derived humus is what makes Suståne easy to handle and predictable every time. Treated, tested and documented for export and safe application anywhere.

If anyone tells you...

“We make compost just like Suståne.”

       Then have them explain how...

“There is only one organic fertilizer called Suståne.”

Suståne Organic Fertilizers... Always Quality Assured!

It takes 26 weeks on average to produce a finished ton of Suståne compost. You simply cannot make high quality, high nitrogen and completely stable compost based organic fertilizer in any less time. The Sustane process has been developed and practiced over 30 years and throughout we have found no product comparable. The organic matter must be in the stable form of humus.

Suståne is about predictable response on the crop or turf that it has been applied to. Suståne fertilizers will not burn plants, will not further decompose and consume valuable oxygen from the root zone and will not attract decomposing insects. And because the Suståne composting process converts raw organic matter into valuable humus, the organic matter will not immobilize other forms of nitrogen in the soil. Nitrogen immobilization renders free nitrogen unavailable to plant uptake.

Soil organisms can convert Suståne organic nitrogen into plant available fertilizer nitrogen. Suståne is about providing the grower with the highest quality form of organic humus to your soils and growing media. During the cooling phase that rich humic and fulvic substances evolve during the Suståne process. Soluble nitrogen has shifted to slow release organic nitrogen; the microbial communities have evolved into what are known as the beneficial microorganisms; and humic substances have achieved biological maturity beyond raw organic matter and peat moss but are younger and more soluble than inert and insoluble carbon coal phase commonly associated with soft shale and Leonardite humate fractions.
